“After moving from a 2 bedroom condo in the Distillery District to a 4 bedroom, 3 story home in the Beaches we were not at all equipped or experienced enough to furnish and decorate our 2500 square foot home. We knew what we like, and what we didn’t like, but we had no direction and no idea where to begin. We met with Shannon to discuss ideas, colour schemes and budget and Shannon took it from there. She provided a timeless and sophisticated space, while bringing innovative and fresh elements to each room and tailoring specifically to the unique personalities of each and every person (and dog) in our home. She recognized all design dilemmas and offered solutions and personal attention to every detail involved to successfully execute our dream home. “When I recently hired East Design House to help me with my renovation, I told her I would likely just need some guidance around my kitchen, and potentially some sourcing. But as my renovation began, it quickly became apparent to me that if my renovation was going to go well, stay on schedule and ultimately turn out the way I envisioned...I really needed quite a lot of support. “Hire her! This will prove to be one of the best decisions you’ll ever make. I hired Shannon to consult on a refresh of my living room. This quickly turned into implementing her genius ideas into redesigning elements of our kitchen, front entrance, powder room, and basement family room. I’ve just retained her again for a facelift of our home’s exterior - I won’t make a design decision without consulting the best!
Shannon is the quintessential professional. She worked hard to understand my vision and personal style -- not simply imposing her own (although truth be told, she has amazing taste). She does not overreach - there were many pieces in need of her touch, but she is deferential to the client and didn’t suggest ideas until asked. I assume out of respect for the defined scope of the project, and to ensure she’s not insulting elements that the client may enjoy. I wanted to give her carte blanche with my house, but she exercised restraint until asked for advice. Very admirable. In addition to beautifying our home, Shannon suggested functional elements which have transformed my enjoyment of our house - from a small table at our kitchen window seat (which is now the perfect homework nook for the kids, or a cozy spot for date night with my husband) to a minimalist hanging console table with hidden storage in our narrow entry way, which used to be so cluttered and tight. Or a narrow shelf behind our sofa to allow for the addition of stylish lighting and a charging station (and the perfect perch for a glass of wine). It’s the small enhancements that I would never have thought of myself which make all the difference.
We don’t have much left in our home to benefit from her talents so I may need to move so that she can design us our dream home from scratch!Did I mention she’s also an amazing person? You will find yourself wanting to share a cup of coffee (or cocktail) and forget about the project at hand.

“My husband and I had previously completed a renovation job about 3 years ago on our 2 baths, bedroom built in's and our back deck in our 40 yr old Leslieville townhome. Our next much needed project was the kitchen. We had some ideas of what we liked, however I was getting worried that we were leaning too heavily towards "utilitarian" function and foregoing important design and aesthetics.
East Design House was referred to us through a trusted peer who had recently gutted her home. I loved the pictures I had seen and immediately reached out to them. They were great at providing upfront estimates of time and pricing structure and offered us great flexibility. EDH met with our contractor and the 2 of them listened to what my husband and I wanted and then collaborated on what was possible. We were provided with multiple layout considerations and made some final edits to our favourite pick. The most fun was when it came to colours! the team had seen some of my Pinterest favourites and worked their magic. They quickly pulled the colour scheme together and it was love at first sight. I have to say, the bold move to go with a navy blue island is my favourite feature in our kitchen that everyone comments on. Having this vision made the project come to life for us. East Design House was fantastic at being available for quick decisions...what light to choose? What tile to go with. Something that would have weighed us down, they were able to short list and focus us in on the best choice for our project. East Design House was a delight to work with. Their eye for style, knowing what is current yet also within our budget was super helpful and in the end we are THRILLED with our kitchen. I would definitely recommend East Design House as a trusted partner in any design project!”

“Working with the East Design House team was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. After initially reaching out to the amazing Shannon looking for direction on how to refresh our principal bedroom, she connected me with her team. From the start, they were extremely responsive and quick to connect, while also managing to work around the many challenges of designing during a pandemic.
